N. Seth Nelson has earned a DMA and MM in organ performance at The University of Michigan, under the tutelage of Dr. Marilyn Mason, where he was also the first to earn the Certificate in Musicology. He earned a BM from the University of Texas at San Antonio, as a pupil of Dr. Bess Hieronymus, where he received numerous awards for his work as an organist, pianist, and accompanist, and was honored with the Presser Award. With Dr. Deborah Schwartz-Kates as an advisor, Nelson graduated from the UTSA Honors College Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Nelson has served as the Music Director of Faith Presbyterian Church (PCA) in San Antonio, Texas, as the Organist of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church (M-S) in Brighton, Michigan, as the Director of Music Ministries at Trinity Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Boerne, Texas, and as the Interim Organist for Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Austin. Currently he is a staff accompanist of Trinity University, the San Antonio Choral Society, and the San Antonio Opera. Seth remains active as a concert organist and musicologist through regular invited recitals and lectures, and is currently pursuing publication of his manuscript, Calvin on Music. As a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teachers National Association and as an Associate of the American Guild of Organists, Dr. Nelson teaches an active piano and organ studio.
